Yesterday, I was trying to watch the anime Blood+ that one of the team leads burned for me. I was, well.. not really shocked but surprised that my ODD (optical disc drive) was making a lot of noise. Alright, it was making loud whirring sounds. I talked to Kinky about it (yes, Kinky's color-blind
) and he said that the discs that I was trying to read may be warped. Warped in the sense that it's not flat, but bent. Usually, when you check the disc under a light source, you'd see that there are some sort of wavelike patterns on the disc instead of a really flat surface.
So, I had to check it out this AM when I got home. So there I was, trying to see if the discs were warped. But unfortunately, since I have bad eyesight, I couldn't see a thing! The discs seemed pretty flat to me. So next step? Try different media! Luckily, I have this pirated copy of Death Note on hand. I tried playing that and the drive was not making any sounds at all. It was like a finely tuned car engine with a really good muffler.
Yey! My ODD's OK!
Texted Kinky to ask TL TJ to burn me another copy of Blood+.
It has already been almost well, a month I guess since I got my Compaq laptop. And up until now, I don't know if I'm just putting off buying or what, I haven't gotten my new lappy a laptop bag.
From previous posts, I mentioned I found this cool Paul Smith laptop bag at Greenhills for P2400 but I lack the budget.
I was looking for alternative lappy bags online and found this online shop having a clearance sale on laptop bags. It's www.snugmugs.com . I'm pretty sure you've seen those laptop bags being sold at Fully Booked, right?
Also found this site from ShopCrazy.com.ph and they're selling lappy bags for a cheaper price. I am not sure about the quality though. You can check out the site www.vanillatop.multiply.com for their bags.
